British Romanticism started in the late 1700’s and ended in the mid 1800’s, a very strong and powerful movement. Romanticism was a very new and special era with new poetry, drama, novels, paintings, sculptures, and also all forms of concert music. They also believed in nature and imagination over reason. Romanticism helped with the political problems of the time letting the people talk about the fears and hopes for everything. The people of this time had a new outlet to let all their worries out. There are many very famous books and authors from this time that are still read today. Some of these famous authors still known today are; Shakespeare, Mary Shelley, and also Charles Dickens just to name a few.
Modern Romanticism today is similar to British Romanticism, but with some differences to it. Modern Romanticism has a lot to do with nature like British Romanticism, but a difference would be the role religion had with Modern Romanticism. Also, Modern Romanticism has alot more gothic in it, then the Birtish Romanticism. Even though Modern Romanticism has some differences than British Romanticism, as everyone can see they are very similar in many ways.
